Up and down or across?

Ok, for those few who read my blog, I have a couple of questions relating to finishing off my current project.

1. When sewing the yarn ends into the garment, should I sew across the row or up and down the side – I’ve read books sucggesting these two different methods and to be honest I’m not really sure which one would be best for the jacket.

 2. Sewing seams.  Seeing as this is an all-in-one garment I’m really not sure what which stitch to use and how to go about it (should I fold the thing in half or try to line up the seams side by side).  Also, do I use the same seams for the underside of the sleeves or do I use a different stitch *is somewhat confused*.

Ripping back

Posted on September 2nd, 2007 by

I’ve had to rip back my latest project because I increased rather than casting on.  Many thanks go to the wonderful Diane for figuring out for me where I went wrong.  Seeing as there were only 55 rows before the point where I messed up, I decided to start from the beginning just in case I ripped back to the wrong point.

Having just about managed to move all my stuff from Southampton back to Kent, I spent yesterday evening ripping the whole thing back and knitting the first 30 rows.  Today I’ve done some more while I was pondering over dissertation stuff and have got to the point where I cast on stitches at the beginning of the rows -once again I got confused by the instructions in books so I took a gander at the video on knittinghelp.com (sans sound I might add seeing as my brother’s computer was being uncooperative) and finally got the hang of it.  Hopefully there won’t be any more major slip ups.

For now though, it’s back to the dissertation…
